Otsar Announces 2nd Annual Celebrity Grand Slam At Keyspan Park

Brooklyn, NY, May 20, 2005 - Otsar Family Services today announced plans for its Second Annual Celebrity Grand Slam at Keyspan Park in Coney Island - home of the Brooklyn Cyclones -- on Sunday, September 18 from 1 to 5 PM.

The Grand Slam will include a celebrity softball game in which sponsors will be managed by and play alongside former Major League Baseball players on a professional field; an all-day carnival; contests; and professional instruction clinics in pitching, fielding, and batting for contributors and Otsar beneficiaries.

"Otsar has a long history of empowering children with developmental disabilities and their families," said Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. "I'm proud to support this vital organization. I had a great time at the Grand Slam last year. This event is a wonderful way for the whole family to have fun while supporting an important cause. By pitching in together, we can make this year's Celebrity Grand Slam an even greater hit."

Event Chairman Benjy Berger, who is also a member of the Otsar board, said that approximately 7,500 individuals of all ages are expected to attend the event. "More importantly," he said, "we anticipate a significant number of corporate and individual sponsors to step up to the plate and help us expand the services we provide to more than 700 families in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Long Island with a developmentally disabled family member. This event is a unique partnership of baseball legends and children with special challenges, major corporations and small businesses, community leaders and regular families -- all coming together for an unforgettable afternoon of fun."

Sponsorship opportunities will include baseball clinics with former major league players; the opportunity to play or coach with and against professionals players; the chance for children to serve as bat boys; luxury suites with celebrity visits; signage; scorebook and scoreboard ads; product distributions; carnival games; and contest presenters.

The most meaningful opportunity will be offered to the Otsar Pre-Game Clinic Sponsor, who will underwrite a clinic with the Major Leaguers for children and adults who are Otsar clients. Otsar is a 25-year-old organization dedicated to enabling developmentally disabled children and adults to become vital and contributing members of their families and the community; providing families with the knowledge and tools to fully engage special-needs children; and serving as a support network for families of children with disabilities.
